Clubs are requested to submit no later than the Monday evening, preceding the Sunday game, a request for a referee to the referee secretary (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Details to be provided are Age Group, Match, Venue and importantly Kick Off Time.
The referee secretary will then reply to your email, normally by Wednesday evening with an allocated referee for you to contact and confirm the arrangements. This gives you time to confirm the referee to your opponents.
Sometimes it may not be possible to allocate a referee, teams asked to have a back up plan if this happens to be the case. However if you are appointing your own referee who takes a fee then they MUST be registered with a County FA for the current season, this is important as it is the only way that you can be sure that the referee has current CRB / DBS clearance. Ask the referees to prove their registration.
Some referees assume that by passing the course and doing the initial CRB / DBS clearance then they don’t have to register for any future seasons, they do!!
