Alteration to League Rules of which Notice
has been given
·
John Sparkes advised
that the proposed Alterations to League Rules had been circulated to members
and asked members to advise if there were any alterations that they were not
happy with.
·
Farncombe
Youth expressed concern at the proposed pitch sizes, especially for Under 16s
and the Women’s League. A general
discussion followed during which Alan Clarke, the SCWGL Child Protection
Officer, advised that he has been meeting with the FA in an effort to clarify
pitch sizes. Ottershaw Girls advised
that they are reliant upon Council pitches and have no control over the pitches
which are marked out. It was decided
that the reference to pitch sizes would be deleted from the rule changes. However, the goal post sizes would remain in
the Rules.
·
Members
queried the restriction on the number of players who could be registered for
each squad. Karen Bailey explained that
the restriction was to prevent teams from “stock piling” players who are then
cross-registered with other Leagues.
These teams then tend to use their “best” players for Cup matches. Some teams have as many as 28 players
registered for an 11-a-side team and they cannot possibly give all the players
their fair share of football. Members
requested that the limit for 11-a-side teams be increased from 18 to 20. This was put to the vote:-
For : 29
Against : 2
Vote carried for limit to be increased to
20 for 11-a-side teams
·
The
Alterations to League Rules (as circulated but with the deletion of pitch sizes
and the increase of the squad size to 20).
Proposed : Roundshaw
Seconded : Rocks
Lane
Unanimously
accepted; no objections; no abstentions; vote carried.
10. Set
Date for Conclusion of Playing Season
The playing season will begin on 11th September
2005 and end on 7th May 2006.
Proposed : Maidenhead
Girls FC
Seconded : Croydon
Girls FC
Unanimously accepted; no objections; no abstentions; vote
carried.
11.
Any Other Business of which Notice has been
given
None.
12. General
John Sparkes wished everyone a restful
summer and good luck for the forthcoming season.
