Please see the attached letter re the U7 funday. If you are in tending to attend please e-mail me in the next 7 days with confirmation of your entry and the number of boys attending per team .Multi clubs will be classed as separate teams.

the reason is that I have to order trophies for the event and those who do not respond in time may well be disappointed on the day.

This will be our fourth year of running this event it has been very successful for the players and every player will receive a trophy on the day.

Please read the instructions in the letter carefully. Please note that ONLY PLAYERS REGISTERED BY THE CLUBS AND IN POSSESSION OF VALID ID CARDS CAN PLAY ON THE DAY. Those of you who have yet to register will be given some grace but I would ask you to do this ASAP. Players will be eligible if they fit the criteria fro this seasons under 7 age group. ie Under 7 – the player must have attained the age of 6 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season but must be under the age of 7 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season.  Dear Club Secretary /Team Manager,

You are cordially invited to attend the fun day above. Registration will take place between 9.10 am &  9.30 am. Teams registering after that time will not be guaranteed a place.  Each player  must be in possession of  a  SY&U21L ID card   otherwise they will not be able to play on the day.

Players may only play for one team during the day. There will be three mini soccer pitches and games will consist of   one  7  minute half.  We expect each manager to be responsible for the behaviour of all the players and supporters of their team. To this end we would ask that each team distribute this letter to their parents.

Whist we accept that it is difficult  we would like to point out the following:

  • When not playing we expect the boys to stay together as a team.
  • Younger children there as spectators must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Access is granted to the car park / refreshment area, playing area and pavilion  toilets only.  All other areas of the Chelsea training ground are strictly out of bounds.
  • No dogs are permitted on the grounds.
  • Litterbins will be provided please use them.
  • Chelsea FC staff will be present on the day please follow their instructions when asked.

Any person failing to comply with these instructions may be asked to leave

The aim of the day is enjoyment particularly for those taking part.  Managers and parents are expected to bear this in mind at all times.

There will be no competition as such but instead a series of games based on a points system. Each team will effectively start will 100 points each. They will be awarded an extra 10 points per win and 5 points per draw. There will also be a “penalty shoot” out and a “hit the bar“ competition” Each penalty goal will collect 20 points for the team up to a maximum of 100 points and each crossbar hit will amass 50 points for the team to a maximum of 250 points. These competitions will run between matches.

The team with the most points at the end will receive a prize and other spot prizes will be awarded at the presentation at the end of the day. All teams are expected to stay until the finish and attend the presentation when each and every competitor will receive a trophy to remember the day.

Rules will be as per the SY&U21L mini soccer handbook with the exceptions above. Teams must be punctual and be at pitch side ready to play when called. Games will not be delayed because of shortage of players. Each team is responsible for its own first aid and ensuring that players are kept together and on time for matches etc.

Please remember we are the honoured guests of Chelsea Football Club and that fun and enjoyment is the order of the day. Managers and parents are expected to bear this in mind at all times.

Should it be necessary the decision of the SY&U21L panel on the day will be final. No disputes of any kind will be entered into.

Refreshments will be available from a mobile catering facility in the car park and toilets will be available in the clubhouse building.

The SY&U21L hopes everyone has an enjoyable day.
