Please
find below the final league positions for the 2008 / 2009 Season. The Leagues
are formulated by a committee who take into consideration firstly the number
of teams in an age group, the form and final league positioning from last
season, personal preferences of teams and an assessment of standard of new
teams joining the league. We are as confident as we can be that we have
positioned teams in leagues that should give all teams the ability to fairly
compete in a standard bearing all the above factors in mind. You will
therefore see that we have had to change the names of some of the leagues in
some age groups as regionalization, numbers of teams and standards have
changed and we could not fit into the same format as last season.
We have worked hard to grant all your wishes and where possible place you
in the division that you requested. Sadly we have not been able to please
absolutely everyone. This has been due to some major structure changes where
we have tried as far as possible to remove the North & South aspect of
particularly the top divisions but everywhere it was possible this season,
There has been some pain with this and we realise that the changing of the
divisional names may at first seem like demotion but a closer look will
see that most changes are name only and will not affect the standard of
matches in that division. We feel sure
that next year
having set out were possible how many teams will be promoted or relegated
from each division we will have a stronger structure.
This may take a couple of seasons to fully implement and see the benefits
but is essential for the smooth running and future
of the league. I would ask everyone to bear with us in our efforts to
stabilize and secure an even structure for the future.
We are about to start working on the fixtures and from
now on will only really be able to move teams where there is a vacancy
caused by a withdrawal or where a team wishing to drop down a division can
be replaced with a team that wishes to be promoted.
We will still be able to accept new teams but this will probably only be in
the lower divisions or to fill vacancies should they arise.

| For Season 2009/2010 the U10's move to 11 @ side
- This season promotion and relegation will only be guaranteed for the top
teams in North and South Divisions. Next Season Premier North & South
will be collapsed into one Premier league of between 10/12 teams, with
roughly the top teams in North and South forming a Premier league and the
bottom halves forming a Div 1, Div 1 will be renamed Div 2 and Div 2 renamed
Div 3. |
