Prawn Sandwich Service Update

 

The League wishes to express it’s disappointment with regard to the outages and frustration that was suffered yesterday and this morning with the new admin system. We have been working with the service provider to ensure the service is fixed and ensure next weekend we do not suffer the same disruption.

 

The service is now functioning satisfactorily apart from U8 Match Return Card submission, which is scheduled to be available by 18:00 this evening.

 

The basic problem was that the servers couldn’t handle the traffic that was thrown at it from 18:30 last night – you all finished watching the match on TV!!

 

Actions taken since last nights outage:-

• Noon today additional memory has been added to the current servers
• 11:00 a.m. this morning the Match Return Card system was switched back on, which was turned off during fault finding last night.
• Further investigations are ongoing to ensure that processors can cope with a similar traffic profile next week, and will be upgraded this week if necessary
• The U8 match return cards will be available from 18:00 tonight.

 

A huge thank you for your patience and to many of you who have successfully submitted cards with very little problems at all.

 

We did expect a few teething problems this weekend, but it turned into a few fillings, rest assured we are trying to avoid Root Canal work.
